About the Role
We're looking for a creative and hands-on 3D-design professional who loves to teach. As Lead Facilitator – 3D Design & Printing, you will guide a diverse group of learners through the processes of modelling, printing, post-processing, and presenting physical prototypes. This is a full-time, on-site role where you'll lead workshops, mentor student projects, and help build strong maker-portfolios. If you believe 3D printing is more than tech—it's an empowerment tool—this role is for you.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate in-person sessions on 3D design, modeling, and additive manufacturing fundamentals.
- Guide students through hands-on projects and capstone prototypes
- Support portfolio building and presentation of 3D design work
- Track progress, engagement, and learning outcomes
- Mentor students on career paths in design, prototyping, and advanced manufacturing
- Participant Support: Offer guidance and mentorship to participants, providing constructive feedback on assignments, presentations, and discussions.
- Work closely with the team to refine learning materials and lesson plans wherever required
- Organize demo days to showcase student project
Educational Qualification and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
- Master's degree preferred but not mandatory
- Min 2 to 3 years hands-on experience with leading 3D design and modeling tools such as Fusion 360, SolidWorks, Blender, Rhino, or TinkerCAD etc.
- Familiarity with slicing and print preparation software such as Ultimaker Cura, PrusaSlicer, or Simplify3D etc.
- Prior experience in teaching, mentoring, or facilitating workshops in design or digital fabrication
- Proven ability to manage end-to-end 3D printing workflows — from concept modeling to final printed output
- Understanding of industry practices in rapid prototyping, product development, and design thinking
- Experience collaborating in multidisciplinary teams and adapting instructional content for diverse learning levels
Location
- This role will be located in our Auroville, India office. Approximately 10% of travel is anticipated [globally/within India].
